Wow, it’s been a month

I wrote a blog after my first week here and I meant to write one every Friday. Somehow 3 weeks have gone by without another post. I’ve officially survived law school for a month!

A friend of mine and I were talking last Monday at the beginning of the week. She said she feels this time is dragging on. I, on the other hand, can’t believe how fast it’s going. That was 6 days ago and I feel like we were talking about it yesterday.

Even though things are going by really fast, I am LOVING it here. Here are a few pictures of what I’ve been up to:

Looking down on the Trunbridge World's Fair from the Farris WheelThis is the picture of the Tunbridge World’s Fair from the Ferris Wheel. My roommate and I went together and we ate fried dough. I bought some awesome snow boots for only $30!

This is the soup from the Stone Soup event that the local farmers made and gave to the town for free! It was sooooo yummy. A bunch of my friends came together and sat on the grass in the town green and ate as much soup as we could! Free, local, organic, vegan soup is just another reason why I love this town.

I ran for and won a 1L Senator position for the Environmental Law Society! Woo hoo!

I tabled in the Chase Student Center and asked people to call their Senators on Tuesday before they voted on the Defense Re-authorization Bill to repeal Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. Then, I was really frustrated and disappointed when the Senate blocked debate on the bill. Sad day.

But, last night I went with Alliance to meet people from the GLBTQ graduate student group at Dartmouth. We went to the “Canoe Club” in Hanover, NH, which is this ritzy restaurant/ bar. I spent way too much on gin martinis, but I had a blast and got to know the members of our group a little better and met some awesome people from Dartmouth!

I’ve been crazy busy working on homework and trying to maintain my sanity while I figure out what it is that I’m supposed to be doing to get good grades and “think like a lawyer”. I have been going to all the study sessions/ Academic Success Program workshops I can. I think that I’m getting the hang of it, but I know there’s probably more I could be doing.

Welp, speaking of doing homework, it’s 4pm and I’ve basically wasted the day so far. Gotta get back to the books.

Peace!
